Fans have been extremely joyful when J.B. Smoove joined Curb Your Enthusiasm in season 6. The casting selection came about solely unintentionally. At the time, J.B. had been writing for SNL, however a funeral led him from New York to LA. While in LA, he decided to audition for Curb.
As he told the LA Times, "They said, 'OK J.B., you're gonna improv with Larry.' But I was already in Leon mode when I walked into the room. I said, 'OK, let's do this ****, Larry.' Because we improv-ing, right? I said, 'I'll smack you in the face, right?' And Larry looked at everybody, like, 'Who the **** is this guy?'" Endless outtakes display that no co-star can make Larry smash like J.B. Not simply that, but many of those bloopers end up within the display. In season 9's "Running with the Bulls", Larry explains that the fly on his pants is simply too brief, which leads Leon to comically describe the size of his, erm, appendage. Infamously, Larry's Curb precursor, Seinfeld, used to be extremely white despite being set within the heart of New York. Ryan Murphy's The People Vs. As J.B. informed BUILD Series, Larry attended his 50th birthday bash in 2018: "Larry shows up early as hell... I said, 'Larry, why are you so goddamn early to my party, man?' Larry was the first one there."
He explained to his buddy that he sought after to do a grand birthday front, but Larry had ruined it for him. Worse still, Larry requested him why he was past due to his personal birthday party, which J.B. said led to a Curb-style spat in front of the other visitors.
